An 85 m span with a deflection limit tight enough to keep six 14 m door leaves running true, on a live airside plot with a hard 4-hour nightly crane window imposed by the aviation authority.
The roof was designed as a triangulated box truss with a pre-camber calculated from the finite-element deflection model, so the door head rail sits level under permanent load. Each truss was fabricated in three shop-welded segments with bolted splices, sized so a single night-shift window could land and secure one segment.
Delivered without a single airside incident or overrun of the nightly window. Measured door-head deflection came in under the 1/500 serviceability limit across the full span.
